It all starts with a conversation.

I love working with clients to create colorful, sensitive representations of special places in their lives. Connecting people with meaningful, original art is such a special thing that I am so glad to have the opportunity to do in this life. If you have a project that is outside of my realm, I'm happy to connect you with other another artist that might be a good fit.

You become part of the process.

You will receive updates on the creative process, keeping you involved at selected points along the way. Once we decide on an image or idea, I'll send you pencil sketches before moving on to the final product. We'll talk about size, medium, and cost before I begin the final painting. Commissioning a painting is a huge exercise in trust, and I truly take that to heart.

Investment

The commission cost is heavily dependent on the size and medium of each project. With the additional time, energy, communication, and creativity that goes into completing a commissioned painting, there is a 15% increase in price for these paintings when compared to my other works. Industry standards are 15-20%. Shipping and framing costs are calculated separately. At least 50% of the commission cost is due before the creative process begins and is non-refundable due to the nature of the work. The remaining 50% is due before the work is shipped.

Timeline

My work time is dependent on my current workload, the size, and the medium of the painting. Watermedia (watercolor & gouache) are typically faster paintings to make and dry quickly. Oil paintings take a little longer and will take a few weeks to dry before I can ship it safely. If you're considering a commission as a gift, please keep this in mind and communicate your timing needs up front. Timeline will be clear at the time of agreement.

Shipping

Depending on your location, we will coordinate shipping or delivery depending on the size of your painting. I ship via USPS internationally, but can also coordinate local pickup in Concord, NH or paid delivery. Client is responsible for shipping costs.

Framing

I love the satisfaction that comes with framing finished work. I offer add-on frame consulting and service.

Commission Inquiry

Buying art (especially if you're a first timer) can be overwhelming and confusing. I aim to be accessible and clear throughout the process and I welcome questions of any kind. I am here to help!
